Meet your hosts
Now in our 40s we have years of experience curating holidays for family and friends. We bring the same care and attention to our Mountain Oaks adventures for our guests. After lovingly renovating Chalet Clair, we’ve created a warm, welcoming space where guests can relax, recharge, and enjoy the mountains. As experienced chalet hosts in Serre Chevalier, we offer personal service, local insight, and a genuine passion for great hospitality. Whether it’s helping plan your ski days or preparing delicious meals, we’re here to make your stay easy and memorable. Our goal is simple: to make you feel at home in the Alps.
Our Team

Claire
Business owner, entreprenur. Claire handles bookings and reservations, social media, chalet cleanliness standards and all the sweet treats available in the chalet during the winter season.

Rob
Renovator, entrepreneur, chef. Rob deals with bookings and reservations. He is the boss of all the wonderful meals that are made in Chalet Clair during the winter season and beyond.

Hugo
Excellent local tour guide no matter what the activity. Hugo is a great help, particularly if you're planning your summer holiday with us. Helpful, friendly and all round lovely.

Archie
Always on the mountain but still very much a part of Mountain Oaks life with friendly smile and plenty of advice to give about skiing and mountain biking.

“We had the most incredible week. From the moment we arrived, Claire, Rob and their two boys made us feel completely at home because of their warm hostpiality and attention to detail.
The chalet itself is stunning: modern, yet cosy and inviting. After long days on the slopes, returning to a roaring fire and the smell of freshly baked treats was pure bliss. The food was phenomenal and every meal was delicious and beautifully prepared.
Rob went above and beyond, even taking us on a fantastic mountain tour and helping us discover some hidden gems.

Chalet Clair – Booking Policy
We want booking with us to be simple and stress-free. Here’s what you need to know:
Deposits & Payments
A 50% deposit secures your holiday.
The balance is due on 6th December 2025, or if booked after this date, 8 weeks before arrival.
If you book within 8 weeks of your stay, we ask for full payment.
Cancellations
Deposits are non-refundable, however, if you need to cancel your booking and we are able to re-let the chalet for the same dates, we may, at our discretion, refund some or all of the amounts you have paid (excluding any non-recoverable costs or discounts we may have offered to secure the replacement booking). Any such refund will be considered a goodwill gesture and is not guaranteed.
If you cancel less than 8 weeks before arrival, the full balance is due.
Please make sure you have travel insurance that covers cancellation, delays, medical care, and winter sports.
Arrivals & Departures
Check-in: from 16:00 on arrival day
Check-out: by 10:00 on departure day
If you need different times, just ask — we’ll help if we can.
Your Stay
Please look after the chalet and treat it as your own.
Report any damage or breakages — we may need to charge for repairs.
No smoking inside the chalet.
Dietary Needs (Catered Stays)
Let us know your dietary requirements at least 2 weeks before your holiday. We’ll do our best to accommodate you.
Peace of Mind
In the very unlikely event we have to cancel, we’ll refund everything you’ve paid.
- We cannot accept liability or pay compensation for events outside our reasonable control (including but not limited to: natural disasters, adverse weather, strikes, epidemics/pandemics, travel disruptions, or resort closures).
